Biography:
Dr. Syed Shahzad Hasan is an academic and health services researcher with over 20 years of experience across Malaysia, Australia, Pakistan, and the UK. Currently, he serves as the Postgraduate Course Leader at the University of Huddersfield in the UK. A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a registered Pharmaceutical Scientist (SRPharmS), he has been a member of the Sindh Pharmacy Council since 2005. He has authored nearly 400 research outputs, including over 220 publications since 2021, with more than 3,600 citations during 2021–2025. He is ranked among the top 2% of the most highly cited scientists globally and frequently contributes as first, senior, or corresponding author in journals published by top-tier publishers. In recognition of his contributions, he received the University’s 2024 "Research Supervisor of the Year Award" and ISPOR’s Excellent Research Article Award. He serves as Associate Editor for Wiley’s Journal of Medical Virology and sits on the editorial boards of Drugs & Therapy Perspectives, Pakistan Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and the British Journal of Pharmacy. He has also held editorial roles as Associate and Section Editor for the Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice, Topic Editor for Frontiers in Pharmacology, and Guest Editor for MDPI Pharmaceuticals. In addition, he regularly reviews manuscripts for leading medical and health journals and assesses research grant applications for major UK funding bodies.
