Abstract

Machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) have emerged as powerful paradigms in artificial intelligence, enabling systems to learn patterns from data and automate complex decision-making processes. This paper presents a comprehensive review of machine learning and deep learning approaches, focusing on their fundamental principles, commonly used techniques, and diverse real-world applications. The study discusses core ML algorithms, neural network architectures, and the role of deep learning models in solving complex problems such as image recognition, natural language processing, healthcare analytics, and recommendation systems. Furthermore, the paper highlights the key differences between traditional machine learning methods and deep learning models, emphasizing their strengths and limitations. Recent research trends, including explainable AI, transfer learning, and large-scale data-driven modeling, are also examined to provide insights into the evolving landscape of intelligent systems. By synthesizing findings from recent literature, this review aims to offer researchers and practitioners a clearer understanding of current developments and future opportunities in machine learning and deep learning technologies.
